Hambury Stores

West Lulworth's village shop is named after a few nearby features, such as Hambury Farm and the steep hill, Hambury Tout, just to the southwest. The village post office moved in here from the Heritage Centre in c.1999 but the branch was axed in 2008 as part of a national programme of closures.

The shop first started life as ‘Boons’. Originally, Boons only had a shop in Dorchester and they used to visit West Lulworth to take orders and then deliver groceries. They decided there was enough demand for groceries and so opened their shop.
