I John Barnes of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset Gentleman being of sound mind memory and understanding do hereby revoke all Wills Codicils and other testamentary dispositions made by me at any time or times heretofore and do publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament I direct my debts funeral and testamentary expences to be paid out of my personal estate I give and bequeath unto my Brother William Barnes of West Lulworth aforesaid the interest or produce of the sum of six hundred pounds sterling for and during the term of his natural life such interest or produce to be paid him by my Executrixes hereinafter named by two half yearly payments at Lady Day and Michaelmas the first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first happen after my decease And from and after the decease of my said Brother William I give and bequeath the said principal sum of six hundred pounds sterling unto my Niece Hannah Collins Mullet the Wife of Charles Mullet of West Lulworth aforesaid Carpenter to and for her owne use and benefit And I direct that such legacy or principal sum of six hundred pounds sterling shall not be subject to the debts controul or intermeddling of the said Charles Mullet or any future husband of my said Niece Hannah Collins Mullet I also give and bequeath unto my Brother Henry Barnes of West Lulworth aforesaid the interest or produce of the sum of six hundred pounds sterling for and during the term of his natural life such interest or produce to be paid unto my said Brother Henry by my executrixes hereinafter named at Lady Day and michaelmas the first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first happen after my decease and from and after the decease of my said Brother Henry I give and bequeath the last mentioned sum of six hundred pounds sterling unto my Niece Elizabeth Snelling of West Lulworth aforesaid to and for her own use and benefit and I direct that such legacy shall not be subject to the debts controul or intermeddling of William Snelling or any future husband of my said Niece Elizabeth Snelling I give and bequeath unto my Niece Ann Barnes the Daughter of my said Brother Henry Barnes the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling to and for her own use and benefit I give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Barnes the Son of my said Brother Henry Barnes the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling to and for her own use and benefit I give and bequeath unto my Brother in Law William Samwayes of West Lulworth aforesaid ffisherman the sum of ten pounds sterling I give and bequeath unto Philip Abraham Barnes the younger of Blandford fforum in the said County Woolstapler my two Volumes of Hutchins History of Dorsetshire and also the picture or portrait of my late relative Mr William Hatchard I give and bequeath unto John Barnes (the brother of the above named Philip Abraham Barnes) the sum of fifty pounds sterling in token of my respect for him I give and bequeath my household goods and furniture plate linen wollen and china unto the said Charles Mullett the said William Snelling and my Niece the said Ann Barnes to be divided equally among them share and share alike All the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of whatsoever nature or kind which I shall die possessed of and not hereinbefore given I give and bequeath unto the children of my Nephew William Barnes of Hamborough farm Yeoman to be equally devided amongst them share and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said two Nieces Hannah Collins Mullet and Elizabeth Snelling joint Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will set my hand and affixed my seal the twenty eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine John Barnes

Will of Henry BROWNE gentleman proved 17 July 1707
This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Browne of West Lulworth in the County of Dorsett Gentleman made published and declared this thirtieth day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and seaven Imprimis I bequeath my Soul into the hands of God Almighty and my body to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named in the parish Church of West Lulworth aforesaid (but if it should be deemed in some other parish Church) and as for my goods and personall Estate I dispose thereof in manner following Imprimis I give to my dear Mother Katharine Browne twenty pounds to be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease And the sume of fifteen pounds to be paid her yearly dureing her naturall life by equall half yearly payments the first payment to be made at the first of the ffeasts of the Nativity of our Lord God the annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary the nativity of St John the Baptist and the ffeast of St Michael the Arch Angell whichever shall happen next after my decease Item I give to my loving kinsman Charles Ancketill of Stower Provost in the said County of Dorsett Gent the sume of fifty pounds Item I give unto William Browne of Ringwood in the County of Southton aged about nine yeares the sume of fifty pounds when he shall attain the age of one and Twenty yeares Item I give to my Kinsman Joseph Browne of Wick in the County of Worcester near Pershore Gent fifty pounds and my Seal Ring which bears the Escutcheon of my family Item I give to my Kinsman Mr Winter of Stower Provost aforesaid Tenn Pounds and my Will is that five pounds more to be paid him by my Executor to be by him disposed of to such Charitable Uses as he shall think meet Item I give to John Slade of St Andrews ffarme the sume of five pounds Item I give to John ffooke of East Lulworth in the said County of Dorsett Blacksmith five pounds Item I give to [?] Bernard of Weymouth in the said County Widd: the sume of five pounds Item I give to my loving Kinsman and friend Thomas Knapton of Dorchester in the said County of Dorsett Gent the sume of one hundred pounds Item my will is that five and Twenty pounds shall be laid out in mourning Rings to be given to such persons as I shall direct Item I give all the rest and Residue of my goods chattels rights and Creditts to the said Thomas Knapton whom I constitute Executor of this my last Will and Testament in trust that after all my debts and Legacies and the said yearly payment to my Mother are satisfied paid and determined the same shall be equally divided and paid to and amongst the Children of ffrancis Anketill of Stower Provost aforesaid Esq by Mary his Wife such of them as are younger than the said Charles Ankertill in equall proportions Witness my hand and Seal the day and year above written Henry Browne Signed sealed published and declared (after the interlineations of the word Mother) in the presence of us John Rumsey, Jos Damer

This is the last Will and Testament of me Benjamin Crispin Major General retired in Her Majestys Indian Army now residing at West Lulworth in the County of Dorset I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal property of every description and wheresoever situate unto Edward Howe Burke of Marble Hill in the County of Galway Esquire, Charles Granby Burke of Miltown in the County of Dublin Esquire, Joseph Weld Esquire, Son of Joseph Weld late of Lulworth Castle in the County of Dorset Esquire deceased and Reginald Weld Esquire Son of Edward Joseph Weld now of Lulworth Castle aforesaid Esquire their heirs executors administrators and assigns respectively Upon trust to pay the interest dividends and annual income of the whole of my said property by equal half yearly Payments regularly to my Sister Mary Ann Crispin for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease to pay unto my two Sisters Jane Crispin and Sarah Crispin and to each of them the sum of Sixty Pounds Per Annum for their lives respectively And I will and desire that my said Sister Mary Ann do live separately and apart from my other two Sisters Jane and Sarah and not in the same house together If however they live together then I direct that the said annuities so given to each of them my said Sisters Jane and Sarah respectively shall not take effect but shall be utterly revoked And out of the said dividends and interest so paid to my Sister Mary Ann for life I direct that she shall during her life and after her decease that my Trustees or the Survivor of them his executors and administrators do pay to my Son the Reverend Neil Campbell Crispin an annuity of Fifty Pounds per annum And also to my Son William Benjamin Crispin an Annuity of Forty Pounds Per Annum according to the Will and Pleasure of my Trustees that is to say during his good behaviour And after the deaths of each of the said Annuitants then I direct that as each of them shall depart this life his or her annuity shall revert to and fall into the residue of my Property which residue subject to the trusts and directions aforesaid I give devise and bequeath the same absolutely to my Grandchildren the Children of Lieutenant Colonel James Henry Burke of the Indian Army by my daughter Marion Elizabeth Burke I desire my said my Trustees or the Survivor of them his executors or administrators to convey transfer and assign the same to them accordingly. This is a Codicil to my last Will and Testament dated the 20th day of January 1864 I now desire that whatever sum of money may be available either personal or real of my estate after the decease of my three Sisters shall be in the management of my Executors for the use of my Grandchildren share and share alike if possible the Children of my daughter Mrs J H Burke but I desire now that they shall not come into possession of the Money or any Part of it until they each of them have attained the age of (21) twenty one years On each attaining the age of 21 the Remnant of Share is to be paid up as may be deemed desirable by the Executors for the benefit of my estate and the Children as they arrive at the age of 21 years. This is the Last Will and Testament of me Eleanor Fookes of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset Widow made and Published this eleventh day of October one thousand eight hundred and thirty three first I direct all my just debts and funeral expences be fully paid and satisfied I give and bequeath unto my Brother in Law William ffookes my beds bedsteads and beds furniture in the Chamber of the House I now live in all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever moneys goods chattels Shop goods tools and Utensils I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth ffookes for her own use and benefit absolutely and it is my will and I do hereby direct that the business of a Blacksmith now carried on by me shall after my decease if possible be carried on under the superintendence of my trustee and Executor in trust hereafter named during the minority or marriage of my said daughter to and for her own use and benefit solely during such minority or marriage and on her attaining that age or being married that the management of my said business shall no longer be under the superintendence of my trustee but that the same shall be held and enjoyed for her own use by my said daughter absolutely And I hereby nominate and appoint William Collins Barnes of West Lulworth aforesaid Miller my trustee and Executor in trust of this my will and my will is that my said trustee and Executor shall reimburse himself of all such costs charges and expences that he shall be put unto by virtue of this my will and I hereby revoke all former will or wills Codicil or Codicils heretoforemade by me and do declare this only to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written _ Eleanor Fooks

This is the last Will and Testament of me Joseph Langrish Riding officer of West Lullworth in the County of Dorset Made and Published this Twenty Ninth Day of July in the Year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Fourteen in manor and Form as Followeth First I Give to my beloved wife Elizabeth Langrish all my Cottage or Dwelling House and Garden and Premises thereunto belonging in for and During her life if my interest should so long Continue therein I likewise Give to my Wife all my Household Goods and Furniture of Every sort and kind for her Life only and after her Death the said Goods and Furniture shall be equally Devided between all my Children boath of my first wife, and those of my second wife respectifully I also Give to my Wife all the Yearly rent arriving to be Produced by my Freehold Dwelling House situated in Milcom-Regis otherwise the Town of Weymouth in the said County of Dorset to assist in bringing up my Younger Children and after her Decease I order that the said Freehold Dwelling house shall be sold and the Money arising from such sale shall be equally Devided between all my Children as above I give to Jane, Patience, Fanny and Sarah Langrish Daughters by my Present wife a Feather Bed Each over and above what they will receive at my Wife’s Death, I also Give to my Grandson William Langrish, son of John Langrish late of the Town of Weymouth one shilling Lastly I Declare all Former wills by me made, at any time before this to be void and to be of no force, and that this only to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have set my Hand and seal The Day and Year above written and I also appoint my wife to be my whole and sole Executrix

Will of Philip PARMITER yeoman made 18 June 1815
The last Will and Testament of Philip Parmiter 1733-
This is the last Will and Testament of me Philip Parmiter the elder of the Parish of Stoke in the county of Dorset Yeoman touching the settling and disposing of such wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me
First I will that all my just debts funeral expenses and the costs of proving this my will be fully paid and satisfied and after satisfaction thereof I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca the sum of six hundred pounds. I also give unto her the full sum of five hundred pounds secured and due to me from my son Philip Parmiter on his note of hand. Also I give and bequeath unto my said wife all my household goods plate linen china and furniture whatsoever which shall be in both the houses at Burngate and Saint Andrews farms or which I may die possessed of interested in or entitled unto for her own sole and proper use and benefit. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Caines widow the sum of four hundred pounds. I give and bequeath unto each of the seven children of my late Daughter Rebecca Polden the sum of thirty pounds to and for their own sole and proper use and benefit and do direct that their individual receipts alone shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my Executors for the same. I give unto my daughter Tamzey Talbot wife of Mr William Talbot the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds and do also direct that her receipt alone shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my Executors for the same notwithstanding her present or any future coveture. I give devise and bequeath unto my sons John Parmiter Philip Parmiter and James Parmiter and to my daughter Elizabeth Richards wife of James Richards, Hannah Meaden wife of Henry Meaden the sum of one guinea each. I also give devise and bequeath unto my son William Parmiter the sum of five hundred pounds. All which said several sums so by me bequeathed I do will and direct shall be paid to the different Legatees by my Executors hereinafter named at the Expiration of six months immediately after my decease. And as to all the Rest and Residue of my all and personal estate what so ever and where so ever or of what nature or kind save not hereintofore disposed of I give devise and bequeath unto my sons Edward Parmiter and Thomas Parmiter equally share and share alike and do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the joint executors of this my will hereby revoking all former and other will and wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament. This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Parmiter of St Andrews Farm in the parish of East Stoke in the county of Dorset Yeoman made and published this twentieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five after payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses and proving this my last will I give devise and bequeath all my estate of what nature and kind so ever in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I give devise and bequeath unto my joint bondsmen Joseph Weld Esquire of Lulworth Castle in the county of Dorset and Robert Damen of Woodstreet Farm in the parish of Wool Dorset the sum of one thousand pounds to be paid by them ay my decease to the National Bank Wareham as money borrowed of the said National Bank Wareham – Also I give devise and bequeath unto my son Thomas Parmiter twenty five pounds and should my property at my decease admit it I further give my son Thomas Parmiter seventy five pounds – also my son William has received his fortune by his apprenticeship – also my son Charles I will provide for by apprenticeship in my life time – also I give devise and bequeath to my two daughters Sarah Parmiter and Anna Parmiter the sum of fifty pounds each – also I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Mary Parmiter after all my just debts and the aforesaid legacies, one third of the whole of my property – also I give devise and bequeath unto them under mentioned joint Executors the whole of the residue of my property to be placed by the at interest for the benefit and education of the children of my wife Mary until her oldest daughter Maria Parmiter is the age of twenty one years the aforesaid residue of property to be the divided equally between the surviving children of my younger family. I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Joseph Weld Esquire of Lulworth Castle and Robert Damen of Woodstreet Farm of Wool Dorset joint Executors in trust of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all and every other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament.

In the Name of God Amen, I Bexey Tewxbury late of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset but now of the Town and County of Southampton Widow being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God for the same do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say). First I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses be paid and to and with the payment of them I do hereby subject and make liable all and singular my Estate and Effects. I give and bequeath unto my Nieces Elizabeth Stoford and Mira [?] Stoford daughters of my sister Martha Stoford the Sum of One hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain apiece to be paid to them respectively on the death and demise of their Mother the said Martha Stoford if she so shall happen to survive me in which case I direct that she shall have and be entitled to receive the Interest of the said Legacies during the term of her natural life and that to that end the said Legacies respectively shall be by my Executer hereinafter named placed out at Interest on some Government or Real Security within one Month or as soon as conveniently may be after my decease. This Will was proved at London this the twenty third Day of March in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of John Garland the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn herein [?] by Commission only to administer.

Bexey Tewxbury was the widow of Francis Tewxbury. They were married by licence at Winfrith Newburgh 2 September 1750. Francis was the son of John Tewksbury and Francis Collins and is mentioned in the latter’s will. He was buried at West Lulworth 25 February 1793. Administration was granted to his widow Bexsy 29 April 1793. Rebecca Tewkesbury was buried at West Lulworth 31 January 1796.
The Executor and principal beneficiary of the will, John Garland, had married Francis and Bexey Tewxbury’s only known child, Radigan Lisle Tuexbury, who was baptized at West Lulworth 4 March 1762. The marriage between John Garland of Chaldon Herring and Radigan Lisle Tewxbury took place at West Lulworth 11 July 1780. It was short lived. Radigan Lisle Garland was buried at Chaldon Herring 29 April 1781. No doubt she died in childbirth as their son William Garland was buried there 5 May 1781.
Bexey was the daughter of Warren Lisle and his first wife Mary (probably she was Mary Davies and the marriage 4 December 1717 at Portland). Other sources show Warren Lisle was an effective Customs and Excise man. Becky Lysle was baptized at Melcombe Regis 2 July 1732. There are records of her sisters Mary and Penelope and her brothers Henry, Warren and Warren (two). Penelope was baptized 1725 and buried the same year, but the name no doubt was given to a second daughter (as Warren was given to a second son). It is apparent from the wills of Warren Lisle and Ruth Lisle (see below) that Martha Stoford and Penelope Nicholls were daughters from this marriage; in both Martha is referred to as Penny Stoford.
Mary Lisle the mother was buried at Wyke Regis 19 January 1733. Warren Lisle then married Ruth Clapcott at Melcombe Regis 9 May 1735 and they had five children among them William Clapcott Lisle who married Hester Cholmondeley (Esther in the Upwey registers) sister of George Earl of Cholmondeley and mentioned in Robert Walpole’s will.

Appeared Personally Sarah Trinkhole of Newport in the Isle of Wight and made Oath that she knew and was well acquainted with John Trinkhole formerly of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset Mariner but late of Haslar Hospital in the County of Southampton a Seaman belonging to His Majestys Revenue Cruizer……deceased for several years before and to the time of his death and that during such her knowledge and acquaintance with the said deceased hath frequently seen him write and also write and subscribe his name whereby she hath become well acquainted with his manner and character of Handwriting and subscription And this Appearer having now with care and attention perused and inspected the paper writing now hereunto annexed purporting to be the last Will and Testament the said deceased beginning thus “Royal Hospital at Haslar In the Name of God Amen I John Trinkhole Marine No 7 of His Majestys Revenue Cruizer but now a Patient at Haslar Hospital being of sound and disposing mind and memory do hereby make this my last Will and Testament” ending thus “In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine and in the tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the 4th by the Grace of God of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith” and thus subscribed “John Trinkhole” saith that she verily and in her conscience believes the said name John Trinkhole so set and subscribed to the said Will to be of the proper handwriting and subscription of the said John Trinkhole deceased Sarah Trinkhole On the 13th day of June the said Sarah Trinkhole was duly sworn to the truth of the aforegoing Affidavit by virtue of the annexed Commission before me P Geary Commissioner

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Trinkhole of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset Spinster I direct that all my debts funeral and testamentary expences be paid by my executors I give and bequeath to John Barnett Gillingham of Wareham Draper and William Shippard of the same place Gentleman the sum of One hundred pounds upon trust to pay the same with the interest (if any) to accrue thereon after my decease to my Brother Thomas Trinkhole by weekly instalments of ten shillings per week during his life or until the whole of the said sum and interest shall have been paid to him the said weekly instalments to be….at the time of my death and the first payment to be made as soon as conveniently may be thereafter and after the decease of the said Thomas Trinkhole in case there shall be any overplus remaining of the said sum of one hundred pounds upon trust to pay the same overplus to Henry Trinkhole Thomas Trinkhole the younger John Trinkhole and George Trinkhole sons of my said Brother Thomas Trinkhole equally between them share and share alike I give and bequeath to the said Thomas Trinkhole the younger the sum of twenty five pounds I give and bequeath to the said Henry Trinkhole the sum of fifty pounds I give and bequeath to the said John Trinkhole the sum of five pounds I give and bequeath to the said George Trinkhole the sum of twenty pounds I give and bequeath to Mary Sophia Stroud daughter of Sophia Stroud Matron of Dorchester Gaol the sum of fifty pounds I give and bequeath to Mary Baker daughter of John Baker of Lulworth Blacksmith the sum of fifty pounds and my Watch I give and bequeath to Eleanor Baker sister of the said John Baker the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings I give and bequeath to the said John Baker the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings I give and bequeath to Mary Snelling wife of Robert Snelling Coast Guard Man the sum of ten pounds I give and bequeath to Mary Harvell Widow of George Harvell the sum of five pounds I give and bequeath to Ann Williams wife of John Williams Shoemaker the sum of five pounds and as to all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise and bequeath the same unto my brother the said Thomas Trinkhole and his Sons the said Henry Trinkhole Thomas Trinkhole the younger John Trinkhole and George Trinkhole equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I hereby declare that my said trustees and executors shall be charged and chargeable only with such monies as they shall respectively actually receive notwithstanding their joining in any receipt or other act for the sake of conformity and shall not be answerable or accountable the one for the other of them nor for any loss or damage unless the same shall happen by or through the wilful default of them or either of them and that it shall be lawful for them out of the monies which shall come to their hands to retain or allow to each other all cost charges and expences which they or either of them shall sustain in or about the execution of the trusts hereby in them reposed and I appoint the said John Barnett Gillingham and William Shippard Executors of this my Will and I hereby revoke all Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Sarah Trinkhole have hereunto set my hand this twenty seventh day of March one thousand eight hundred and fifty two Sarah Trinkhole

This is the Last Will and Testament of me John Tuxbury of West Lulworth in the County of Dorsett Made this Eighteenth day of March in the Year 1760 First I Give and divise to my Son John Tuxbury the Sum of ten Shillings and Sixpence, I Give and divise to my Son Frances Tuxbury the Sum of Eighty Pounds, I Give and Bequeath to my Son Thomas Tuxbury the Sum of Sixty Pounds As a Legacy Over and above his Right and Benifect as one of my joint Executors, I alsoe father give to my Son Thomas Tuxbury the Cottage I Latley Purchased Lying in the Parish of East Lulworth during the tearm of the Lease, O Ordaine and Bequeath to my Wife a fill Power to take to her Sole Use Any Partes or Parcels of my Household Goods that she shall think Proper before any division Whatsoever is Made of my Effects, Lastly All the Rest of my Goods and Chattels, I Give and Divise to my dear Wife Judeth Tuxbury And do Appoint and Ordaine them my joint Executors of this my Last Will and Teatament; I alsow Will and Ordaine and direct that After my decease that Her Part of What She Shall dy Possesed of Sahall be divided betwixt my two sons Thomas Tuxbury and Richard Tuxbury

This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Vye of West Lulworth in the County of Dorset Mariner made and published the seventh day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seven First I give and devise unto my Wife Ann All that my Leasehold Cottage with the Appurtenances now in my occupation situate at West Lulworth aforesaid To hold to her my said Wife Ann for and during the term of her natural life (if my Estate and Interest shall so long continue therein) and from and after her decease I give and devise the same unto my Son John to him his Executors administrators and assigns for and during all the residue and remainder of the term to come therein and unexpired Lastly all the Residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever or wheresoever I give devise and bequeath unto her my said Wife Ann to and for her own use and benefit and I do hereby appoint her my said Wife sole Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills be men at any time heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written

The last Will & Testament of George White of the Parish of West Lulworth Dorset being in sound mind ffirst I give and bequeath to my dear wife an annuity of £20 per annum to continue so long as she shall live or so long as my property shall last to be paid to her in equal weekly payments by my Executor Edward George Wood 2nd I give & bequeath to my dear wife and each of my dear daughters the sum of £1 to provide themselves with mourning 3rd I give and bequeath to my dear daughter Ann Amelia Winzar the whole of the household furniture & fixtures (excepting the clock)belonging to me now in my cottage at West Lulworth together with the chimney glass now in the Parlour of the Infant School at Balls Pond 4th I give & bequeath to my dear daughter Susannah White my Watch together with my large ffamily Bible I the feather Bed at Balls Pond which last she is not to have until after the decease of my dear wife 5th I give & bequeath to my dear daughter Martha Wood the clock now in my cottage 6th I give and bequeath to my dear daughter Caroline White the piano forte now at Balls Pond Islington 7th I give & Bequeath to my above named daughters Ann Amelia Winzar Susannah White & Caroline White All my remaining household furniture bed & table linen & which I direct to be equally divided between them after the death of my dear wife 8th I direct that my funeral expences shall be paid & my just debts shall be paid & the legacies herein mentioned shall be paid & that the whole remainder of my property shall be invested in the Savings Bank or public funds in the joint names of my dear son George Augustus White & my son in law Edward Wood to form a fund for the payment of the annuity to my dear wife as before mentioned & not to be applied in any other way 9th should any of the property mentioned above in chance remain after the decease of my dear wife I direct that it shall be equally divided between my four dear daughters above mentioned but I further direct that my executors do not pay any of such portions without they are satisfied as to the use to which it is to be applied as it is my intention that it should be appropriated for the benefit of my dear daughters or their children 10 I constitute my dear son George Augustus White of Norfolk Street Park Lane London & my Son in Law Edward George Wood of Rotherfield Street London my Executors with power to carry into effect this my last Will 11th My Body I direct to be buried decently according to the rites of the church of England in the church yard at West Lulworth as near as possible to the graves of my dear departed mother & son & my name to be inscribed on the stone about to be placed over the grave of my dear departed mother my soul I commit to the hand of God trusting solely to his promised mercy in Christ Jesus for the pardon of all my sins & the salvation of my Soul Amen 12th I request that one or both of my Executors if possible be present at my funeral & that the sum of £3 be allowed to them for their expences Signed this 23rd August 1840
