Golf Links at Lulworth were first planned back in the 19th Century.
1896: The golf links will be formed in the coming winter. A meeting was held on Aug. 21 under the chairmanship of Mr H. Blundell Weld, representing the owners of the estate, at which a committee were elected. The committee subsequently fixed a very low annual subscription and appointed Dr A. P. Trinder honorary secretary of the West Lulworth Links. The money for laying out the links is being raised by donation among the local gentry and a few of the visitors. Further donations will be welcome and should be sent to the honorary secretary.
